Olivia Tuner-Leftwich

Olivia is originally from Nashville, Tennessee. She began her ballet training at Centennial Youth Ballet through the Metro Parks Dance Division. She then went on to graduate summa cum laude from Mercyhurst University with a BFA in Dance and a BA in History. Within the dance department, she studied ballet, contemporary, jazz, and choreography. There, under the direction of Noelle Partusch, Jennifer McNamara, and Matthew Christensen, she performed in classical and contemporary productions. Her favorite roles include a Lover in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, one of the Odalisques Trio in Le Corsaire, and Spanish in Swan Lake. In her senior year, she choreographed and designed a contemporary ballet piece titled “The Myth of the Indigenous Woman,” combining research from her history and dance degrees. Her love of storytelling and inquisitive nature inspire both of her passions. Upon graduating, she joined New York State Ballet. During her time there, she performed in their Nutcracker and choreographed a piece for the company. Olivia is excited to be a part of Ballet New York for its premier season.
